The Liliha Center, on Liliha St in Honolulu, needed as many photovoltaic panels as possible to help combat a very large monthly energy bill. It appeared that only half of their roof top would be usable due to the amount of air conditioning units, plumbing, vents and building mechanics on the roof. The Liliha Center needed a solution to get as many PV panels installed as possible. Enter EcoShade.
In collaboration with one of Hawaii’s leading solar companies, Sunetric, EcoShade installed a structure to carry hundreds of Sunetric PV panels to create a canopy over the top of the machinery and pipes, making the entire rooftop a useable area for their PV installation and allowing them to double the impact originally considered feasible.
